 Parkhurst Boys 1842-1862
Halifax Packet - arrived in WA in 1844 SOURCES

The 'Halifax Packet' is said to have left the Isle of Wight on August 20, 1844 and to have arrived in Fremantle, Western Australia on December 11, 1844. In all, she was said to have carried 25 passengers and the 18 Parkhurst boys who embarked at the Isle of Wight were among that number.

The boys were listed in Paul Buddee's book, 'Fate of the Artful Dodger' and in Andrew Gill's later work, 'Forced Labour for the West'.

The 18 'apprentices' who were transported on the 'Halifax Packet' are transcribed below.
