THE LAW PROVIDES

Ted Morrow joined the Western Australian Police Force in 1920 and this autobiography documents his experiences as a policeman in the North-West, Murchison and Gascoyne. It describes the people and friends that became part of his life in Broome, the Tablelands and Peak Hill in the 1920s and early 1930s. A great deal of information is given about the Aboriginal people and the harsh and difficult circumstances that were often endured by prospectors and pastoralists.

In some cases it was difficult to assess if the author was writing about a district or specific Station (e.g. 'Three Springs' or 'Three Springs Station'). The same applies with references to rivers and the district surrounding rivers and researchers are advised to check all the references. The author occasionally referred to people by first name only, and in those cases they have been indexed accordingly.
