BEYOND BOUNDARY FENCES

The author joined the WA Police Force in October 1896 and retired in August 1937. His writings record "some incidents in the early day life on the Goldfields in Western Australia" and focus on the towns and people of Peak Hill, Nannine and Sandstone and surrounding areas. They give detailed descriptions of the customs, activities and bush skills of the Aboriginal people of the area, as well as some wonderful descriptions of the native flora and fauna. The book gives a first hand account of the harsh environment and the many difficulties experienced on the "fields".
