My particular interest is in a man named Robert Gamble.
He was said to have been a Whaler or Sealer who came to Albany, Western Australia from the British Isles via New Zealand in the early part of the 19th century.
He married an Aboriginal woman from Port Phillip Bay (Melbourne) although many of the women who came to Albany with the Whalers historically came from Van Dieman's Land (Tasmania).
